POSITION: News & Digital Media Reporter

DUTIES: Responsibilities include developing, researching, writing, and editing coverage of local news; preparation of radio and video newscasts and public affairs programming; management of content on our online, mobile, and social media platforms; and other community-focused engagements and activities. This position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, but may expand to up to 30 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communications skills and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel; have a technical aptitude and a competitive personality; enjoy relationship-building and a fast pace; be an intuitive, creative, confident, organized self-starter able to work effectively without direct supervision; and project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor. A background in broadcasting or journalism and/or a college degree are preferred but not required.

LOCATION: Sylacauga, Ala.

ABOUT US: We are RadioAlabama, home to Yea!106.5 & WYEA!1290 (Alabama’s 2017 Radio Station of the Year!), 98.3 Fox FM, 105.1 WRFS, and 96.3 & 1050 WLMA.
