POSITION: News & Digital Media Manager, Yea!106.5 and WYEA!1290

DUTIES: Responsibilities include developing, researching, writing, and editing coverage of local news; preparation of daily radio newscasts and public affairs programming; management of content on our online, mobile, and social media platforms; and other community-focused engagements and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communications skills and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel; have a technical aptitude and a competitive personality; enjoy relationship-building and a fast pace; be an intuitive, creative, confident, organized self-starter able to work effectively without direct supervision; and project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor. A background in broadcasting or journalism and/or a college degree are preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION: Hourly (paid bi-weekly). This position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, but may expand to up to 30 hours per week.

ABOUT US: From Alabama’s Marble City (and, if you didn’t know, marble is the state rock), two of our radio stations blanket parts of Talladega, Shelby, Coosa, Clay, and Tallapoosa Counties in east central Alabama. We’re based in the heart of the Talladega-Sylacauga Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included along with seven other counties in the federally-defined Birmingham-Hoover-Talladega Combined Statistical Area. Our focus: Sylacauga-Childersburg, west past Chelsea to just outside Birmingham, and north past Talladega. Our third station serves Lake Martin-Alexander City and areas south to Montgomery, east toward Auburn-Opelika, and west toward Clanton, reaching into parts of more than 18 counties.
